5/12/2017 Overall Experience : A good first apartment for a poor newlywed couple .  But completely unsuitable for a family or someone looking to rent for more than 1 year. Pros: *Cheap rent, the rent here is competitive for the area. *The landscape is well maintained. *The apartments are regularly treated with pest control though we did see quite a few cockroaches. *Two laundry rooms with 3 dryers and 3 washers each. *Plenty of hot water that never seems to run out. Cons: *Once every few days the entire complex will be engulfed in a horrific smell akin to marijuana or burning rubber.  It only happens at night when you're trying to sleep and shut windows won 't keep it out.  The landlord will tell you it's just a skunk but in your heart of hearts you'll know that it can't be just a skunk.  We think it was the car repair shop next door burning old oil.  Either that, or one of the apartments were hot-boxing and opened their windows to air it out.  I eventually devel...

The fire broke out at the Coppertree Village Apartments on W. This location is ideal, every highway is accessible within a mile radius along with the mall and multiple grocery stores . The exterior of the complex is well maintained, the lawn is always manicured which is nice. That being said, the complaints I do have revolve around maintenance. The laundry room conditions are horrendous, the machines are always breaking down and I found that the detergent doesn't always release into the machine so we resorted to using tide pods. I did the laundry today and found a trail of dead ants by the washing machine, which could have easily been cleaned up by the maintenance crew but it wasn't. It costs two dollars to use the washing machine and another two to use the dryer and you would think that the room would be somewhat maintaine...

Around 5 a.m., a man at The Bridges of Cypress Creek apartment complex on Red Oak Drive was leaving for work when he heard crying noises coming from the bushes. "He couldn't tell what it was, and then he looked and saw that it was a baby," said sheriff's office spokesman Jason Spencer . "He found a baby girl still with the umbilical cord on, lying on the ground." That man, Albert Peterson, told KHOU he at first thought the sound was coming from a toy. When he picked up the baby, she was still covered in blood and mucus and had ants all over her. A man who lives in the complex told deputies around 5 a.m., he heard a baby girl crying and at first thought it was a toy. When the man realized the baby was alive, he took the child home and called police. Shaw said he suffered a pair of high ankle sprains Saturday night after jumping from the second story of an apartment complex to save his 7-year-old nephew, who was struggling in the pool. Shaw said his nephew did not know how to swim. He admitted to team officials on Wednesday that the story was a complete fabrication. Head coach Steve Sarkisian said Tuesday the school received several calls questioning the authenticity of Shaw's story and had been investigating the matter. Jaleesa Carlisle was sleeping in her Lawndale home, the windows open on a cool summer night , when heat and smoke woke her up early Friday. "You can literally feel the heat because my windows were open," Carlisle said. "You can literally feel the heat coming in, you know, with the smoke. I'm like, is it my building?" She looked out the window and saw flames coming from a nearby apartment building in the 1800 block of South Avers Avenue . She dressed and ran outside to make sure everyone made it out. ST. LOUIS • New details are emerging from police about the neighbor dispute that brought police Tuesday to the home of Kenny “Kiwi” Herring, who was then killed in a confrontation with officers. In court documents filed in St. Louis Circuit Court , police say Herring had accused a downstairs neighbor that morning of starting a fire on a back deck. Herring then stabbed that neighbor after Herring’s partner provided the kitchen knife, police say. Herring was fatally shot by police after Herring, in a scuffle with officers, cut an officer on the arm. Herring’s partner, Kristy Lynn Thompson , is jailed on assault charges for handing the knife to Herring. And the neighbor who was stabbed was hospitalized with stab wounds. The victim suffered a collapsed lung in the attack, police say.
