One Suspect Arrested After Homicide Investigation in Portland's Goose Hollow Neighborhood (Photo)

The deceased person located in the 700 block of Southwest Saint Claire Avenue on Tuesday August 22, 2017 has been identified as 35-year-old Ryan D Thompson of Portland. The Oregon State Medical Examiner has determined Thompson died of homicidal violence. Homicide detectives continue to investigate this case. Anyone with information should contact Detective Anthony Merrill at 503-823-4033 or Anthony.Merrill@portlandoregon.gov ###PPB### ###ORIGINAL MESSAGE BELOW### On Tuesday August 22, 2017, at 3:11 p.m., a person, later identified as Paris McConville, entered the front lobby of Central Precinct, located at 1111 Southwest 2nd Avenue, to report a deceased person. Central Precinct officers and detectives with the Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Homicide Detail contacted McConville. McConville directed investigators to an apartment in the 700 block of Southwest Saint Clair Avenue. Officers arrived and located a deceased man inside an apartment. Detectives initiated a suspicious death investigation. Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division have responded to assist with the investigation. At this time body has been released to the Oregon State Medical Examiner for an autopsy. The autopsy will be conducted today. During the preliminary investigation, detectives determined this was a homicide investigation. 34-year-old Paris McConville was taken into custody and booked into the Multnomah County Jail on one count of Murder. McConville will be arraigned this afternoon. The identification of the victim is pending notification of his family.
