Man shot in head at Regency Square Apartments

AUGUSTA, Ga.---The search is on for a murderer after a man was found shot to death in his car.

Investigators were called to the Regency Square Apartments off Deans Bridge Road in south Augusta at around 4 o'clock this afternoon.

29-year-old Tollie Mitchell was found shot in the head inside his black Honda Accord on the 2600 block of Thomas Lane.

K-9 units searched the woods beyond the apartments shortly after investigators arrived.

The sheriff's office is offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for Mitchell's death. Anyone with information is asked to call 706-821-1080. You can remain anonymous.

In tonight’s What’s Working, a local non profit that provides housing for homeless veterans has a waiting list. Eagle’s Landing has provided apartments for veterans for the past 5 years. It’s located on Moffett Road. There are 38 apartments available for the men. News 5 talked with Army Veteran, Curtis Haskin. He has dealt with PTSD for years. He has been at Eagle’s Landing for the past 14 months and says he’s gotten help for his problems. He says “I am deeply grateful.
