PLANO – A SWAT standoff in East Plano Tuesday morning has a man in custody. Starting around 3 am at an apartment on Sherrye Drive, the suspect shot a man in the leg after what police say was some sort of argument between him and the suspect. Responding police found the suspect inside an apartment after they followed a trail of blood. He refused to come out prompting a SWAT team to send in a robot to the apartment. The suspect was found hiding in a closet and the robot was used to communicate and eventually convince him to surrender around 6:30 am. The man was arrested and taken to the hospital for a hand injury. Charges are unknown.

A Lancaster woman who was treated for an apparent overdose is facing child endangerment charges after responding officials found two young children in an uninhabitable apartment with her last week. Ebony Frederick, 33, of the 100 block of East King Street , was taken to Lancaster County Prison following medical treatment, authorities said. When police, and emergency personnel, responded to a sick person call at Frederick's efficiency apartment on Aug.7, Frederick was unresponsive and two children, a 3-year-old and a 10-month old child, were located with her. The apartment was covered in bodily fluids, feces and vomit. This included the floors, beds and a smearing on the walls, according to the police affidavit. Soiled diapers were laying in the open and placed in dresser drawers while Pine-Sol cleaner and chlorine bleach were also poured on the floor, police said.  The bathtub was found to have a significant amount of standing water that posed a drowning threat to the children...

ST. LOUIS (KMOX/AP) – (UPDATED 3:43 p.m.) St. Louis police say a man suspected in an apartment stabbing was shot and killed by officers after he cut one of them with a kitchen knife. Police say the officer whose arm was wounded arm during the confrontation about 8 a.m. Tuesday in north St. Louis was taken to a hospital with injuries. He was expected to be treated and released. The 30-year-old suspect’s name wasn’t released. Interim Police Chief Lawrence O’Toole says officers responding to a reported stabbing in the apartment found a victim with severe knife wounds . O’Toole says that when officers tried to arrest the suspect there after the victim identified him, he slashed at the officers, cutting one before being shot and killed. KPTV file image VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) - Police responding to reports of a possible hostage situation at a Vancouver apartment complex said there was no evidence a crime had been committed. Officers responded to the 3200 block of East 33rd Street at 9 a.m. Saturday. A woman called 911 to report a man who was staying in an apartment threatened three people there with a knife. The woman said she managed to leave the apartment and call for help, but she said the other two occupants remained inside with the suspect. The SW Washington Regional SWAT team was called out to the scene. By 1:15 p.m., police said a woman exited the apartment and gave consent for officers to go inside. Police said nobody else was found in the apartment and there was no evidence of the originally reported hostage situation . Investigators said it is unknown at this time if any charges will be pursued for the person who called 911. People who were temporarily evacuated from their homes were allowed to go back...

Police said there was some sort of argument between the suspect and another man. The other man was shot in the leg and is expected to survive. The suspect also suffered a hand injury. Responding officers were able to follow a trail of blood to find the suspect inside an apartment. He refused to come out. A SWAT team eventually sent a robot into the apartment. Police found the suspect hiding in a closet and used the robot to communicate with him and convince him to surrender around 6:30 a.m. The barricaded man was arrested and taken to the hospital to be checked out. It’s not yet clear what charges he will face. Neighbors were evacuated during the standoff.

WENTWORTH, N.C. (AP) -- Authorities in North Carolina have charged a man in connection with the stabbing of a 44-year-old woman and a 7-year-old child.The Rockingham County Sheriff 's Office said Friday that Eden police have charged 34-year-old Christopher Raymond Ellison with attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Sgt. Kevin Suthard said police officers and sheriff's deputies responding on Aug. 17 found the victims at an apartment. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries described as serious. Officers confronted Ellison after a search, and he was shot and wounded by police. Authorities didn't say whether Ellison was armed. Ellison was released from the hospital on Thursday and jailed under a $1 million bond. It's not known if he has an attorney.
