Tasha Williams was walking upstairs at Hilton Head Gardens apartments Saturday with a friend and three kids when she heard the shots ring out. “We all ducked,” Williams said. Beaufort County Sheriff ’s Office spoke to a woman who said an unknown African American man kicked in her door and started shooting at about 3:30 p.m. at the apartment complex. They also said a young child was injured during the shooting. Williams said “I heard a woman scream ‘my child! My child!’” On instinct, Williams said, she and a friend ran to the next door apartment and found the child bleeding. “We picked him up, put him in the car, and drove him to the hospital,” Williams said. The child was airlifted to Savannah Memorial Hospital , according to a Beaufort County Sheriff 's Office release. It also said the child was in stable condition. Las Vegas police say two people died and two others were hospitalized in an apparent homicide at an apartment complex Tuesday night . Cops say the shots rang out at 10:19 p.m. at the Broadstone Talavera Apartments at 2251 South Fort Apache Rd., KLAS-TV reported. Officers arriving on the scene found two victims dead and first responders rushed two males with gun wounds to University Medical Center , according to the Las Vegas Review -Journal. The status of the two hospitalized victims was unknown early Wednesday and cops have yet to arrest any suspects in connection with the shooting, the newspaper reported. Earlier reports from law enforcement officials referenced one dead and then three dead in the incident, but the officials said there were two dead and two hospitalized Wednesday morning , according to the publication. A family trust has sold a Mission Hills apartment complex for nearly 58 percent more than what it paid for the building just three years ago. The entity, 9929 SEP, which represents the Kenworthy Family Trust , just sold a 23- unit apartment building at 9929 Sepulveda Blvd. for $4.1 million to individual investors Brian and Kristin Brahms, according to Paul Kenworthy, a commercial real estate broker . Kenworthy arranged the deal on behalf of his family’s trust, which paid $2.6 million for the building in 2013. Kenworthy said his mother and his six siblings decided to sell after seeing apartments sell for higher and higher prices in the hot market. The buyers were represented by Investment Real Estate Associates . “The buyers liked that it isn’t rent-controlled, has a nice mix of single, one- and two-bedroom apartments and is very well maintained,” Kenworthy said. Company officials said the property, formerly known as La Mirage Apartments , now has a renovated clubhouse with a wine and beer bar, an indoor- outdoor terrace overlooking its swimming pools, and a Wi-Fi lounge. NORTHLAKE, IL — A 46-year-old man formerly from Northlake had an armed robbery with a firearm conviction affirmed by the Appellate Court . According to a release from DuPage County State 's Attorney's Office, Luis Moreta was found guilty of armed robbery with a firearm in December 2014, and in March 2015, he was sentenced as a habitual criminal to a term of natural life in prison. According to the release, Moreta stole $3,700 from a man he met on Craigslist in 2011. On Dec. 2, 2011, the victim drove to meet Moreta in the parking lot an Addison apartment complex to purchase a motorcycle Moreta had advertised on Craigslist. Police in Pinehurst are investigating a death originally thought to have been the result of a stabbing,  Pinehurst Police Chief Fred Hanauer reports . According to a news release from the chief, Officer J. Trussell responded to the Sussex Manor Apartments at 3000 MacArthur Drive in Pinehurst on Jan. 23 at 12:23 p.m. in reference to a death at a residence there. Upon arrival at the location, he located a white male deceased within the apartment. Initial reports to the Pinehurst Police Department indicated that the victim may have suffered from stab wounds following a break-in, but Hanauer stated in the release that the investigation proved that was not the case. Residents on one stretch of Sepulveda Boulevard in North Hills will be getting hundreds of new neighbors in a few years, from a four- building apartment complex at the shuttered Green Arrow Nursery and Hardware site. The Los Angeles City Council this week signed off on the project at 8811 Sepulveda Blvd. The development at the 4.5-acre site is slated to include up to 364 residential units, accompanied by parking spaces for 557 cars and 405 bicycles. On the side facing Langdon Avenue Elementary School , the buildings will be between two- and three-stories tall, while the apartments will rise to six floors on the Sepulveda Boulevard side . Apartment department: Officials with ceremonial scissors gathered Monday to cut the ribbon at the 252- unit Costa Mariposa apartment complex in Texas City. The ceremony marked the official opening of the 7555 Medical Center Drive complex developed by San Antonio-based The NRP Group. The complex is the first affordable multifamily development completed in the county since Hurricane Ike struck two years ago. Because it targets low- and moderate- income people Costa Mariposa was awarded post- Ike stimulus funds from the Tax Credit Assistance Program administered by the Texas Department of Housing & Community Affairs . The department issued $14 million in tax exempt bonds in addition to $8.5 million in tax credits to the developers.
