News 5 talked with Army Veteran, Curtis Haskin. He has dealt with PTSD for years. He has been at Eagle’s Landing for the past 14 months and says he’s gotten help for his problems. He says “I am deeply grateful. Eagle’s Landing was here to help me.”

Veterans can live at Eagle’s Landing for up to 2 years, while they work on getting a job or long-term housing. CEO of Volunteers of America Southeast, Wallace Davis, had a vision for the complex, because he wanted a place where veterans could get back on their feet. “I didn’t want to do a dorm. I wanted to create a home, a place where they could rest and have their own inner peace and get their act together. We want them to get back into their community.”

Eagle’s Landing relies on funding from the VA, however, they also rely on donations from the public. The veterans are responsible for their own food, and household items. If you would like to donate food, paper products, cleaning products, or anything else, they would be grateful.

Contact Eagle’s Landing at (251)421-1229.
