The number of new lettings of office premises in Central in July plunged 75 percent month -on-month, property consultants JLL said. It said leasing activity slowed during the summer holiday, with a net withdrawal of 17, 300 square feet recorded during the period. Mainland banking and financial services firm accounted for 91 percent of all new office premises lettings in Central in terms of floor area. They were also active in sub-market fringes, JLL added. The office leasing transactions included Fortune Fountain Capital which rented 8,900 sq ft at Infinitus Plaza in Sheung Wan as it decided to move out of Central. JLL also said office rents in Wan Chai and Causeway Bay rose by 0. 7 percent month -on-month, as vacancy in the sub-market dropped for the third consecutive month. BELLEVUE -- There were tears of joy in Bellevue on Friday evening, as residents of Highland Village Apartments were told they could stay in their homes. The plan to save one of the last affordable housing options in the area was unveiled to residents during a community meeting. The City of Bellevue, the King County Housing Authority , and members of the state legislature all worked together to make it happen. WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Police in Warner Robins are looking for clues to what happened in a home invasion turned homicide . A neighbor says this is the first time anything like this has happened in their complex. It happened in the Northlake Apartment Complex on North Lake Drive a little after 4:00 AM. One neighbor says he saw a man standing outside the building as he was entering his own home but didn’t think much of it. Officers believe that man was Cartrell Brooks,24, who was armed with a hand gun. He forced himself into the apartment of Malandon West, 26, and James Alderson, 26. When he finally entered he was met with a gun shot. He was then taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. PLANO – A SWAT standoff in East Plano Tuesday morning has a man in custody. Starting around 3 am at an apartment on Sherrye Drive, the suspect shot a man in the leg after what police say was some sort of argument between him and the suspect. Responding police found the suspect inside an apartment after they followed a trail of blood. He refused to come out prompting a SWAT team to send in a robot to the apartment. The suspect was found hiding in a closet and the robot was used to communicate and eventually convince him to surrender around 6:30 am. The man was arrested and taken to the hospital for a hand injury. Charges are unknown.

A toddler was hospitalized in critical condition after falling from a fifth-story window of a Park La Brea apartment in an incident police deemed an accident. It happened about 7:45 p.m. Monday at an apartment building at 360 South Burnside Avenue , Sgt. E. Vialta of the Los Angeles Police Department 's Wilshire Station said. A window was left open and the 2-year-old fell out, Vialta said. The boy suffered injuries to his face and body and required surgery at a hospital. Detectives from the LAPD's Child Abuse Unit were investigating the fall, Vialta said. "Many of us have asked about the safety of the windows," said Heidi Albee, a neighbor and mother of two boys under 4 years old. Mangano announced that the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) has approved an economic compact that will assist a developer in building an apartment complex in Farmingdale, intended and operated for occupancy for persons 55 years of age or older. “This project will further the redevelopment efforts of the Village of Farmingdale as its works with its master plan to revive its downtown and will create new, much- needed housing options for seniors,” said Mangano. A fire that consumed the entire building of 900 Ashwood Apartments , which was destroyed, left all of the building's 20 residents unscathed and safe, Columbia Fire Battalion Chief Steven Sapp said. The fire started around 6 p.m., but Sapp said the fire department had not yet identified the cause of the fire. "We're still mopping up the hot spots," he said. Two firefighters were taken to the burn center at University Hospital. Both firefighters have since been released. Other damages included burns to two vehicles and substantial damage to a fire vehicle. Sapp said the majority of the residents have found temporary housing with family or friends.
