Former rugby star’s Neutral Bay apartment is up for grabs
PLAYING 18 tests for Australia is an amazing feat, and Dr John O’Gorman has earned enormous respect for his time with the Australian Rugby Union, as well as his great performance on the field.
He’s also well known among the football fraternity for having what might be called the unofficial ARU wine bar — his apartment in Neutral Bay. Members from the football years were very welcome to share a red on the balcony.
Phil Harry AM, former president of the ARU (one of the many roles he has held in the game), was a regular.
But also spotted here was one of the most famous faces on our screens — former TV great Channel Nine’s Brian Henderson was also known to enjoy a little quiet time on the balcony.
A great position (you feel like you’re actually over the water), great memories and now a potentially great purchase. The two-bedroom home at 3/13 Baden Rd is on the ground (water?) floor with an unobstructed view and access to the waterfront parkland. All this plus the convenience of a waterside stroll to the Kurraba Point ferry means this would be a super pleasant commute into the CBD.
The really surprising thing here is the amount of on-title veranda/outside space. If I were an Airbnb person (which I’m not — to me a holiday means hot and cold running room service) I would very possibly pay a lotof money to stay here.
Ray White has this one and it’s up for auction this week.
