Elm Creek Apartment Models Open

October 25, 1987

Elm Creek Apartments, 372 units in west suburban Elmhurst, opened three furnished models on Oct. 24.

The five-story, 540,000 square-foot structure has one-, two- and two-bedroom-plus-den apartments with 800 to 1,450 square feet. Rents will range from $775 to $1,115.

Targeted toward executive tenants, Elm Creek will also offer two-story, two-bedroom penthouses and one-bedroom corporate suites in the central recreational core.

``The continued corporate growth in neighboring Oak Brook and a limited number of luxury rentals in this area have prompted the development of this project,`` said John C. Wendland, president of American Land Companies, one of three partners in Elm Creek Ltd. Partnership, a joint venture including the National Corporation for Housing Partnerships and Zakos and Associates, Realtors.

The three models are the Butterfield, a one-bedroom, one-bath apartment renting from $775; the Brookwood, a one-bedroom, one-bath with den renting from $860; and the Hinsdale, a two-bedroom, two-bath plan renting from $1,005. All apartments will have individually controlled central heating and air conditioning, a patio or balcony, dishwasher, disposer, oven and range, washer and dryer.

The units also will include sliding glass balcony doors with vertical blinds, cable TV compatability, individual smoke detectors, storage lockers and an intercom security system.

The project will also feature a jogging trail, picnic area with gazebo, volleyball and tennis courts, sundeck, indoor/outdoor swimming pool, weight room, aerobics room and sauna, Jacuzzi and tanning bed.

The $33 million project on 18 acres will open for occupancy Nov. 1.

To view the models at Elm Creek Apartments, take the Eisenhower Expressway to Roosevelt Road west, exit at Frontage Road, turn right at stop sign.
