Alabama man and woman charged in 33rd Street shooting death
An Alabama man and woman have been charged in the April 30 shooting death of Jakorbin King, Columbus police said Thursday.
The suspects were identified as Marquavious Howard, 21, of Tarrant, Ala., and Jylonda Jones, 23, of Hoover, Ala. Both are charged with one count of murder in the death of King. An initial Recorder’s Court hearing is set for 8 a.m. Saturday for an 8 a.m. Monday hearing.
Three men were previously arrested in early August. Samuel Jones and Tramal Lee Williams, both 17, were charged with murder in connection with the incident. Tyler Fitzgerald Teal, 19, faces an aggravated assault related to the case.
Police were called to 1010 33rd St. to check on a person shot. At the scene, officers found King, 21, dead inside of his apartment.
King was pronounced dead of multiple gunshots at the scene.
A police investigation led to the suspects. Police said suspects forced their way into the apartment and shot King.
