MUNSTER — A 22-year-old man is accused of wounding his mother's boyfriend in a shooting Sunday night at the family's home in Griffith. Arlie O. Sanson Jr. was charged Monday in Lake Criminal Court with aggravated battery, battery by means of a deadly weapon and battery resulting in serious bodily injury, according to court records. The shooting occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday at an apartment in the 1100 block of North Arbogast Street . The defendant's mother told police that she and her live-in boyfriend got into an argument that night after she told her boyfriend to go to bed and he refused, according to a probable cause affidavit. She said they tussled on the couch before her boyfriend grabbed her in a “bear-hug” and tried to push her off the couch, the affidavit states.
