Independent living unit at Windemere suspends admissions, may close

In a conversation with The Times on Tuesday, Joe Woodin, president and chief executive officer of Martha’s Vineyard Hospital (MVH), was vague about the closure of the independent living facility , owned by the hospital and on the MVH campus in Oak Bluffs. Though Mr. Woodin didn’t say conclusively that the unit will close, he said MVH is exploring the option of closing. “We’re going through the process of strongly analyzing this and looking at the options for closing the unit,” Mr. Woodin said, referring to the independent facility known as Wildflower Court. Residents at a west Harris County apartment complex battling bed bugs, who's responsible for exterminating bills

HOUSTON -- Residents in a west Harris County apartment complex are having trouble sleeping because of a bed-bug infestation. Residents at the Windemere apartment complex are stressing over two wars they have on their hands: fighting the battle of the bed bugs and the battle over who's paying for exterminating bills . Zachary Risher says he never had a bed bug problem until a neighbor did. "To the right of me, they were treating, doing the heat treatment for bed bugs," Risher said. Two weeks later, Richer's other neighbor was treated. And then... "I woke up one morning, bed bugs all over my mattress," he said. Richer's not the only one. According to management, 21 heat treatments and six conventional treatments have been performed in the past 12 months at the Windemere Apartments . 2 Ann Arbor apartment complexes sold for $85.7M in record-setting deals

Lake Village Apartments is one of two Ann Arbor complexes bought this month in a record- setting deal involving The Habitat Co. Chris Asadian | AnnArbor.com Two of Ann Arbor ’s largest commercial properties were bought for a combined $85.7 million this month by an entity of the Chicago-based company that had been managing them. The Habitat Co. LLC acquired Windemere Apartments and Lake Village of Ann Arbor from Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company . The deals set records in the Ann Arbor market for the price paid per unit, signaling local impact of the national multifamily market experiencing a rebound. Sources said the Windemere deal is a record $92,083 for the 1980s-era property on the city’s north side near Nixon Road. Attempted Burglary At Farmington Hills Apartments « CBS Detroit

FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) –  Police in Farmington Hills are warning residents of the Windemere Apartment complex to be wary, after one tenant came face to face with a man who broke into his apartment. Police say the burglary attempt occurred in the early morning hours Saturday , when a suspect cut the window screen of the apartment and entered through an open window. The homeowner was confronted by the suspect, at which time the suspect fled the apartment. The suspect is described as a black male, medium build, in his early 30’s, dressed in all black clothing and a black knit cap . Residents are asked to call the Farmington Hills Police Department at 248-871-2610 with any information they may have regarding this matter.
