The Latest: Young Australian boy missing after van attack

BARCELONA, Spain — The Latest on the Spain attacks (all times local): 5:15 a.m. Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has asked people to pray for a young Australian boy who is missing after a vehicle attack on a popular Barcelona promenade that killed 13 people. Turnbull said Saturday that the boy's mother was badly injured and is in a hospital following Friday's attack at the Las Ramblas promenade . Turnbull says the boy's family is searching for him. He did not release the boy's name. Turnbull says: "All of us as parents know the anguish his father is going through, and his whole family is going through, as they rush to seek to find him in Barcelona." BARCELONA, Spain — Authorities in Spain searched Saturday for a member of an Islamic extremist cell that staged vehicle attacks in Barcelona and a seaside resort, focusing on links with his Moroccan comrades, a missing imam believed to have radicalized them and a house that blew up days ago. Catalan police said the manhunt was centered on Younes Abouyaaquoub, a 22-year-old Moroccan suspected of driving the van that plowed into a Barcelona promenade packed with pedestrians Thursday, killing 13 people and injuring 120. FARMINGTON HILLS Police investigate rash of break-ins at Independence Green and Muirwood apartments Several reports of home invasions in Farmington Hills had police investigating break -ins at the Independence Green and Muirwood apartment complexes . The suspects entered the apartments sometime between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday, police said. They were able to break into the unoccupied apartments by prying sliding glass doors open , police said. The Independence Green apartment complex is off Halsted Road near Grand River Avenue , and Muirwood Apartments is in the area of Drake Road and Grand River Avenue . The Farmington Hills Police Department Crime Prevention unit cautions residents to lock all doors and windows -- even if someone is home, to secure sliding doors with track bars or locking devices and to stay alert for suspicious activity in the area. Man accused of driving into St. Louis protest charged

ST. LOUIS -- A man was charged Thursday after authorities said he pulled his car into a group of demonstrators protesting a police shooting in St. Louis, injuring three people.  Mark Colao, 59, faces a felony count of resisting arrest by fleeing and misdemeanor charges of leaving the scene of an accident and operating a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner. It's not clear if he has an attorney who can comment on his behalf. Police said the three people suffered minor injuries Wednesday night during a candlelight vigil and protest in honor of Kenny "Kiwi" Herring, who was fatally shot by officers Tuesday after allegedly stabbing one of them. Relatives and friends have said Herring was a transgender woman. Police and witnesses offered differing accounts of what happened.  The vigil began at a community garden that honors transgender people .
