They also merged everything their father taught them about the construction business and all their mother taught them about family loyalty in their three enterprises, JSM Apartments, JSM Development and JSM Management. Under the JSM umbrella, the Hartmans now own and manage 700 apartments and 114,000 square feet of commercial space in Champaign-Urbana, including the new Technology Plaza apartment/retail/office complex in Campustown. Purchases of previously owned houses unexpectedly fell in July to an 11-month low and sales of new homes were the weakest this year, reports showed this week. While the median time on the market for existing properties was 30 days in July compared with 36 days a year ago, indicating resilient demand , the number of listings remains lean and problematic.  Limited inventory has been a nagging theme for the housing market and is the primary reason why home prices continue to climb and outpace wage growth . While borrowing costs remain low by historical standards, affordability is its weakest of the expansion. BUFFALO, N.Y. - The grand opening of Creekside Village , the University at Buffalo's newest student housing complex , will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 22 in the community building of the complex on Skinnersville Road on the UB North (Amherst) Campus. The fifth apartment-style complex to be built for student housing by UB in five years at no cost to New York State taxpayers , Creekside Village will open this month for graduate and professional students, including married students . The five projects have provided fully furnished apartments for 2,170 students that did not exist five years ago. The $ 11 million Creekside Village project , sponsored by the University at Buffalo Foundation and UB Alumni Association , is comprised of 13 two- story buildings featuring 102 two-bedroom townhouse units and 14 two-bedroom ranch-style units for a total designed occupancy of 232. Residents of two Glendale apartment complexes have been temporarily displaced from their homes due to flooding from Saturday’s overnight storms. Residents of two Glendale apartment complexes have been temporarily displaced from their homes due to flooding from Saturday’s overnight storms. The Greater Phoenix Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting the families of an apartment complex located at 67th and Glendale avenues and a complex located at 63rd and Maryland avenues. There are at least 10 adults and their pets who are affected by the flooding, according to the American Red Cross . The numbers may increase. A volunteer disaster team will asses the damages at the apartments and provide emergency assistance , the American Red Cross said. © 2017 KPNX-TV

Hard Rock has planned to open Hard Rock Hotel Davos with International Hospitality Service , the owner of Spenglers Hotel and Holsboer Residences in Davos, in December 2017. Private equity firm VIYM consulted IHS on the deal.  The recently renovated 130 year -old Spenglers Hotel Davos will be rebranded as the Hard Rock Hotel Davos . Located in the highest city within Europe, which is also home to the World Economic Forum , the upcoming Hard Rock Hotel Davos is in the center of town near the train station, retail and dining options. On March 10, he murdered them in his St. Charles apartment, shot his wife and killed himself. Now his widow, Anjum Coffland , is fighting to undo that change to Randy's life insurance policy . Litigation filed this week argues Randy was not of sound mind when he made his brother and a friend the beneficiaries of his $750,000 policy.   The questions haunting relatives and friends of an Austin, Minn., man shot and killed by Minnetonka police may remain unanswered for months. The Hennepin County Sheriff ’s Office is investigating the officer-involved shooting of Michael Tray, 27, in an apartment parking garage on Wednesday, but in similar cases, it’s taken months before details are publicly released. It was the first officer- involved fatal shooting in Minnetonka history and at least the sixth such death statewide so far this year, according to the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Although Tray was carrying a gun, family and friends say the lack of details about what prompted police to shoot makes coping with his death and preparing for his funeral Tuesday all the more difficult. “My heart goes out to them [the Minnetonka police officers involved ],” Tray’s stepfather, Jim Greer, of Austin, said Friday, “but on the other hand, my 27-year-old stepson is dead. … I don’t understand.” Police were called to the ...
