The Habitat Co. LLC acquired Windemere Apartments and Lake Village of Ann Arbor from Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company . The deals set records in the Ann Arbor market for the price paid per unit, signaling local impact of the national multifamily market experiencing a rebound. Sources said the Windemere deal is a record $92,083 for the 1980s-era property on the city’s north side near Nixon Road. NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A Newport News man has been charged after police say he intimidated young girls at a bus stop. On Thursday, two elementary school students reported a man had approached them twice in the Regency Square Apartments neighborhood on Jefferson Avenue, according to Harold Eley with the Newport News Police Department . The 9-year-old girl and 11-year-old girl said the man first approached them on April 20, that he was staring at them and said he was going to shoot them with a gun. They said the man approached them a second time on Thursday around 8:30 a.m. at the bus stop near the apartment complex , and indicated he was going to shoot them and have sex with them. “He was like looking at our butt and everything, and we thought like something was going to happen to us,” said the 11-year-old girl, who asked not to be identified. “So when we got to school, we told it straight away to the principal.” WALKER, VANDARREN (Photo by NNPD) Both girls said the suspect had ...

GMH Capital Partners on Wednesday announced it recently represented the owner in the sale of Stonewood Apartments , a 100- unit apartment complex located in Durham, N.C. The value of the transaction was $3.9 million. The complex, which consists of 11 two-story buildings and a clubhouse on 11.6 acres, was 93 percent occupied at the time of sale. Neither the buyer nor the seller's identity was disclosed. KALAMAZOO, MI -- Walden Woods condominiums could expand by 200 units in the Arcadia neighborhood . In order to complete the project, the city of Kalamazoo will need to rezone 10.1-acres at 565 S. Drake to a residential, single-dwelling district. Thursday, the Planning Commission recommended the City Commission approve rezone the land, which will contain 40-60 owner- occupied units . The wooded and undeveloped property was formerly part of a Drake's Pond Apartments project approved by the City Commission in 1987. A total of 497 units in 35 buildings was constructed on 36 acres of land, but the owners of the apartment complex sold the remaining property to American Village Development II , LLC. American Village Development built the Walden Woods condominium project to the east of the property. It was Jan. 23, 2004, and she was 19 years old. Lyles lived in the 800-square-foot, two-bedroom apartment with her three children. The family experienced good and bad times at Oakview, keeping mostly to themselves except for associating with some residents a few doors down, Lyles said. Oakview's residents are gone now — the city began demolishing the units last week to make way for the new Dr. T.K. Gregg Community Center . A 55-year-old man whose shirtless body was found Tuesday in the parking lot of a Farmington Hills apartment complex is now identified by police as local man Gary Ramone Johnson . Johnson, a resident of the Muirwood Apartments on Grand River Avenue near Drake Road, was found after 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, wearing only slippers and a pair of shorts. Police are still investigating why Johnson was outside when he died, but don’t suspect foul play in his death. No suspicious signs of trauma were found on his body or at the scene, and the cause and manner of the 55-year-old’s death are still pending toxicology reports , according to authorities. La Mirage: hilltop site a few blocks from Qualcomm Stadium The Irvine Co. has bought an upscale apartment complex in Mission Valley — the company’s largest single-property acquisition of the year. The Newport Beach- based real estate investor and developer recently closed on the purchase of La Mirage, a 1,410- unit apartment complex just off Interstate 15. The 74- acre hilltop site is a few blocks from Qualcomm Stadium. La Mirage was bought from Chicago- based apartment owner Equity Residential . A sale price for the transaction, which was completed late last month, was not disclosed. The tab would come to about $ 350 million based on a per- apartment price of about $250,000 — the going rate for high- end rental properties in the region. That estimate would put the deal among the most expensive seen in San Diego this year.  One man was shot in the head and another received a gunshot wound to the hand during a shooting incident Wednesday night at Eagle Landing Apartments . Police have a man they said was responsible for the shootings in custody.      Ted William Bailey Jr ., 21, Eagle Landing Apartments , was first rushed to East Georgia Regional Medical Center , then flown by helicopter to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah for treatment of a gunshot wound to the head, said Statesboro Police Capt .
